NEW WORKS DEVELOPMENT - BISTOURY

NEW WORKS DEVELOPMENT - BISTOURY

New works in development during the NPN Performing Americas Program Residency 2016 -  Plataforma Caníbal/ Fundación Divulgar.

Two Works in Progress:

DISCONNECTION/ Feature Film by Carla Forte
DISCONNECTION  exposes the crisis in relational communications between the external and internal worlds and the protagonists who, despite sharing the same space, are alienated by a hieroglyph that remains invisible to them: an ancient mystical symbol that represents the fractal beginning of manifest matter.
FLESH/ Physical Theatre Performance by Alexey Taran
FLESH is inspired on Virgilio Piñera’s story, “La carne de René (Rene’s Flesh)”, and the poems from the American writer Charles Bukowski. “Rene’s Flesh" chronicles young Rene's resistance to the education of his flesh, presenting a series of encounters that narrate his struggle against the carnal appetites that seek to consume him. FLESH, conceived as an encounter between two poets and two languages, represented at the same time as an object of revulsion and desire.

National Performance Network/ Performing Americas Program
The Performing Americas Program Residency (PAP) is a partnership between the National Performance Network and La RED (Red de Promotores Culturales de Latinoamerica y el Caribe). This partnership has created a structure for systematic exchange of contemporary performing arts touring in this hemisphere through residencies that provide opportunities for community engagement. This program is based on reciprocity and mutual respect with knowledge building through peer and artist exchange.

Plataforma Caníbal/ Fundación Divulgar
Cannibal Platform is an alternative space for the circulation and dissemination of contemporary art in the Colombian Caribbean, led by the curator Jaider Orsini. The purpose of Cannibal Platform is to make visible the work of artists, curators and emerging researchers, from the production of artistic, exhibition and residences that promote research-creation within and outside the local context projects.
